Question 5: Adressing our audience
How did you attract / address your audience?
To ensure that our audience actually enjoys our film we made sure that we consolted Pete Buckinghams theory called, 'Audience: Trends, profiles and patterns. This allowed us to meet many generic pleasures of our audience however there were some which we could not meet due to the practicality of the task. Below is a presentation which goes into detail of how we met each pleasure and highlights the problems we had.
We did also meet other pleasures for our audience. The fact that are film fell into noir was a effective way of creating relatable characters. By showing the antihero as a drink dependant average detective it makes him relatable. Other genres such as action and adventure tend to not have such relatable lead characters and the audience is forced into the vertisimilitude of the film. With noir it is much more straight forward as the characters are alot more realistic.
